My Daily Prayer

Father, in Jesus’ Name, I thank You that I have great peace, because I love Your law; nothing offends me or makes me stumble. I am filled with Your love, so I endure long and am patient and kind. I am never envious, nor do I boil over with jealousy. I am not boastful or vainglorious, and do not display myself haughtily.

I am not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); am not rude (unmannerly) and do not act unbecomingly.  Your love is in me, so I do not insist on my own rights or my own way, for I am not self-seeking.  I am not touchy or fretful or resentful and I take no account of the evil done to me [I pay no attention to a suffered wrong]. I do not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but I rejoice when right and truth prevail.

My Agape Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, and I am ever ready to believe the best of every person.  My hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and I endure everything without weakening. My Love never fails; never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end.  I have stripped myself of my former nature; put off and discarded my old un-renewed self, which characterized my previous manner of life and would try to become corrupt, again, through lusts and desires that spring from delusion. I am constantly renewed in the spirit of my mind, having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude, and have put on, and keep on, the new nature (the regenerate self) created in Your image. I am Godlike in true righteousness and holiness.

If I get angry, I do not sin. I do not ever let my wrath, (my exasperation, my fury or indignation), last until the sun goes down. I leave no such room or foothold for the devil; I give no opportunity to him.  I let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word, nor unwholesome or worthless talk ever come out of my mouth, but only such speech as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (Your favor) to those who hear it. I do not grieve Your Spirit; do not offend or vex or sadden Him, by Whom I was sealed (marked, branded as Your own, secured) for the day of redemption (of final deliverance through Christ from evil and the consequences of sin).

I have let all bitterness and indignation and wrath (passion, rage, bad temper) and resentment (anger, animosity) and quarreling (brawling, clamor, contention) and slander (evil-speaking, abusive or blasphemous language) be banished from me, with all malice (spite, ill will, or baseness of any kind). I have become useful and helpful and kind to others, and am tenderhearted, (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving others readily and freely, as You, in Christ, forgave me.

Father, I am an imitator of Yours. I copy You and follow Your example, as well-beloved children imitate their father. I walk in love, esteeming and delighting in others, as Christ loved me and gave Himself up for me, a slain offering and sacrifice to You for me, so that it became a sweet fragrance. I let no one delude and deceive me with empty excuses and groundless arguments for the sins of strife, for through these things the Your wrath comes upon the sons of rebellion and disobedience. So I do not associate with or am not a sharer with anyone who would try to influence me to disobey Your Word, concerning Love. For once I was darkness, but now I am light in the Lord Jesus. I walk as a child of Light. I lead the life of a person who is native-born to the Light.
